Thank you all to everyone that came out to see us this winter season. It's not over yet, so if you have been meaning to make it out to the stables for a sleigh ride and dinner you have until March 26th to come out and see why we are the Vail Valley's Best Sleigh Ride and Dinner!

The 2015/2016 winter season was our 4th year offering the sleigh ride and dinner experience at Bearcat's Cabin and was our best year to date! For the first time this winter season we offered all of our catering with the Timberhearth Grill at the Club at Cordillera! Our guests raved about the new menu and our repeat guests were more delighted with this winter's offering. A big thank you to the entire crew at the THG and wishing Chef Rigo a speedy recovery!

Driving our sleighs Nicole Godley had got her inaugural season under her belt. She did an awesome leading her team!  Gavin Selway was also behind the wheel, providing our guests with plenty of entertainment, and we even saw Leeds Butcher get up and take the reigns a few nights.

Engagements Galore! We had a record number of proposals take place with us at Bearcat Stables on our private sleigh, and we even had an entire family join in on our shared sleigh for a proposal. Meet the Percheron's

All of our sleigh horses at Bearcat Stables are Percheron Draft horses. Originating from Le Perch France this breed is known for its strength, stability and willingness to work!

Meet the Percherons:

Frank and Jesse- brothers 8 and 9 years old

Named after 2 of America's most famous outlaws of the Wild West- Frank and Jesse James
Weighing in at approximately 2000lbs each
These 2 party animals are our staple team on the ranch, and these 2 get out to work nearly every night. Frank likes to take the lead, while gentle Jesse is all about controlling the sleigh and putting on the breaks when you are heading down hill.

Wyatt- The Sheriff of this corral!

• Approx 10 years old
• tipping the scales at over 2000lbs
• Named after Wyatt Earp

Wyatt does it all when it comes to pulling sleighs for us. His gentle demeanor and drive to work, makes him the perfect fit for the private sleigh. Wyatt has been helping us with our sleigh rides since we opened. We always joke that with Wyatt you don't even need a wrangler, he knows the sleigh course so well he could do it with his eyes closed.

Warren:

Both approx. 11 years

Warren Earp, was the youngest Earp brother, and had played deputy alongside brother Wyatt

Warren is HUGE! He is the largest Percheron we have had working for us, but don't let Warren's size intimidate you, he's really a gentle giant!

Family Fun in the Vail Valley

The Vail Valley attracts families from all over the world to ski and snowboard Vail and Beaver Creek, 2 of North Americas most boasted about ski resorts. Parents hit the slopes all day and send the kids to ski school, everyone gets to experience skiing and riding at its best! But we all know you came to the Vail to experience a family vacation, and finding activities that the entire family can participate in can be tricky. Your family may not all be expert skiers, the kids might be too young for snowmobiling adventures, and maybe the grandparents have accompanied the vacation and they do not ski. For those of you looking for family fun, you can all do together on your family vacation think Bearcat's Cabin!

Bearcat's Cabin sleigh ride and dinner experience is perfect for families of all ages. We do have any age or ability restrictions, just a fun experience for everyone. Our sleigh rides start right as the apres scene is getting going, but you can't take your kids to hang out in a bar while you sip back on a few frosty brews! Come on out for a sleigh ride with us, and we promise you can still get your frosty brew with us, or try one of our signature cocktails- I recommend the Cowboy Handwarmer.

If Apres Ski is not your thing, but a soak in the hot tub is, then try us out for dinner! We offer 2 nightly seating's at 5:30 and 7:30, each start with a 25 minute sleigh ride. Once you are back from the sleigh ride and taking pictures with our wonderful team of horses enter a piece of Colorado history in Bearcat's Cabin. A 3 course world class dinner is prepared by the Timberhearth Grill and offers a healthy selection that is sure to please everyone. Our children's menu will delight and you don't want to miss the mac n cheese- we see all you kids at heart taking a heaping scoop of the cheesy goodness- and we're glad you do!

Apres ski is one of the most exciting parts of a ski vacation here in the resort towns of Vail and Beaver Creek. You get to hang out with friends and family and re-live the day on the mountain with a few cold ones in hand. This is all great, in fact its awesome, but then you realize you have your kids with you. They don't have much of an interest sitting at a bar waiting until they can do something fun too. They want to be part of the action but they have to wait until they're 21 to get the full effect of just how great the Apres really is. For those of you looking for something a little different to do, or you didn't come to the Vail Valley to ski at all then Bearcat has just what you are looking for in an Apres venue. Its more than Apres its an experience...

Kids love it- a sleigh ride with real horses! Hot chocolate, apple cider and s'mores by the fire- now this is just what they were hoping for. And don't worry mom and dad, we offer a full bar and have an extensive wine list, with glasses of wine and specialty cocktails starting at only $7. Families can enjoy an activity together, outside, and it doesn't get more authentic Colorado than a cozy cabin, a fire pit, a little bit of Colorado history and horse-drawn sleigh ride...

A 30 minute journey thru the snow covered meadows of Cordillera will give you a glimpse of history at Bearcat’s Cabin- one of the Vail Valley’s original homesteads. Frank and Jessie, will show you their strength and beauty as they pull the sleigh up hills and control and break the sleigh on the short down hills. Our amazing team of horses are sure to impress, weighing in at nearly 2000lbs each. At the conclusion of the sleigh ride, a chef prepared three course dinner from the Mirador Restaurant at the Lodge and Spa at Cordillera awaits inside the cabin. Our small and intimate setting allows for few distractions so you can cherish the evening with your most cherished.
